The first annual Fairest of the Fair Gala for Kewaunee County was held on January 4, 2013 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg. Local area food samples, refreshments, raffles, and a silent auction were all part of the festivities. The crowning of your 2013 Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair was the main event of the evening. Emily Lensmire of Ellisville , Melissa Heraly of Denmark, and Becky Seidl of Kewaunee, were the three young ladies competing for the title of 2013 Kewaunee County fairest of the Fair. After much deliberation, the judges chose Emily Lensmire for her confidence, speaking ability, and love of the fair. She is the daughter of Jim and Barb Lensmire . Ms. Lensmire is a graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School. She is currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point majoring in Health Promotion/Wellness. The Boys and Girls Club is where Lensmire spends much of her time when she is not in classes. She participated in the Pilsen Skylighters 4-H Club for eleven years. At the Kewaunee County fair she has shown a variety of arts and crafts including candles, knitted scarves, jewelry, and woven baskets. Photography, cats, and foods were a few of her favorites too. Lensmire especially enjoyed making fudge, coffeecake, muffins and other baked goods. The Kewaunee County Fair was always an exciting time for Lensmire. Now she is ready to make this year’s Kewaunee County fair exciting for everyone of all ages. She is honored to be your 2013 Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair. Lensmire is looking forward to seeing you all at the fair this year.
