The 100th Kewaunee County Fair in Luxemburg has announced its music line up to perform on the Van’s Lumber Stage for 2017 and it’s sure to not disappoint. In addition to several top notch regional bands, 2 stellar national country acts have been secured for the centennial. In concert on Friday July 21, will be Grammy Award winning “Diamond Rio” and on Saturday, July 22 will be former Top New County Artist Award Winner “Ricochet”.
Diamond Rio formed in Nashville and is celebrating their 25th anniversary. They have sold more than 10 million albums, and in addition to a Grammy, won 6 Vocal Group of the Year Awards (CMA And ACM), a Dove Award, earned 5 multi-week No. 1 singles, 22 top 10 singles, 3 certified platinum and 5 gold records. The band is also well known for their charity commitments and has raised over $1,000,000.00 for non-profits and received the Minnie Pearl Humanitarian Award. Hits include Meet in the Middle, Beautiful Mess, I Believe, Norma Jean Riley, One more Day, How Your Love Makes Me Feel, and many more.
In 1996 the members of country Super Group Ricochet watched their debut single “What Do I Know” rise to the top 5. The follow up single, “Daddy’s Money” rose to #1 on the singles chart. The band’s distinctive musical style and intricate harmonies earned them the recognition as one of the most popular vocal groups in country music, a mantle they still wear today. Now more than 20 years later, “the hardest working band in country music” is still going strong. The band has logged thousands of miles on the road each year and has performed to audiences across the country and abroad.
In addition to National Acts, The Van’s Midway stage will also host the Green Bay area’s Favorite Rock Band “Annex” on Thursday July 20th. Annex is a former winner of a Wisconsin music industry award, a WAMI, for “Rock Band of the Year”. Closing out the 100th Fair will be Kewaunee County’s own “Spice”. “Spice” is a long time area favorite known for its Rock n Roll oldies show that is sure to please. “Spice” will play Sunday afternoon on July 23. Opening for Diamond Rio on Friday July 22 will be the up tempo county group “Branded”. They are recent winners of the “Pick-Off” at the Hodag Country Music Fest and have performed at Country USA, Summerfest, and the Wisconsin State Fair.
