2017 Fairest of the Fair

Isabella Haen

2017 Fairest of the Fair

Hello everyone, I am Isabella Haen, your 2017 Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair. I am the daughter of Matt Haen and Coleen Blizel. I graduated high school from Luxemburg-Casco in 2015 and I recently graduated from Fox Valley Technical College with a degree in Agribusiness and Science Technology. Since earning my degree, I have gained full time employment, as a herdsperson, at Kinnard Farms in Casco. I am also a clothes retailer, at Buckle in Green Bay. Throughout high school, I was very involved with FFA and served as a chapter officer of the organization for three years and participated in almost every activity. These experiences helped me grow as an individual, as did the opportunity to run for Wisconsin State FFA Office, which I was runner-up. I wouldn’t trade the people I’ve met throughout the years and the experience for anything. I feel as though I was born a leader and use this gift to serve as your Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair. I love being around people and leap at any opportunity to get involved in the community around me. The Fairest of the Fair ought to be dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring; all of the qualities which I have worked to achieve. My education, employment, FFA, 4-H and community have developed me into the person I am today. Now it is my opportunity to give back to them. Thank you again for all of the support and I am excited for a fun filled year of food, family, and agriculture!

Megan Salentine

2017 Junior Fairest of the Fair

My name is Megan Salentine, daughter of Josh and Jenny Salentine and the oldest of 3 children. I am a high honors student at Luxemburg-Casco Middle School where I serve as Student Council President, Dance Team Captain, and School Newspaper Manager. I am a member of Pilsen Skylighters 4-H Club, currently serving my second term as club secretary. Over the past 8 years I have exhibited many projects in the county fair including cake decorating, rubber stamping, sewing, quilting, and knitting. As I prepare for high school, I continue to focus on my goal to one day become an ELL teacher where I can use my Spanish speaking abilities to help others. In my free time, I enjoy quilting, sewing, and reading. One of my favorite places is the dance studio where I take classes in tap, jazz, ballet, and pointe. I am also a member of the Kewaunee Artisan Center. I am super excited and honored to be named the 2017 Kewaunee County Jr. Fairest of the Fair and look forward to traveling throughout the county this year, promoting the 100th Kewaunee County Fair!
